*Colour is very powerful. If in doubt, start a couple of shades lighter.
*Colour behaves differently in different rooms and when next to other colours. Try out tester paintpots first - they are a small price to pay for getting it right.
*Different shades, tones and tints can clash terribly, so try and get a sense of what colours mix well together by testing them out.
*Other members of the household may have colour sensitivities very different from yours. Make sure everyone has a place where they feel at ease.
*As a rule, try to avoid dynamic colours for tranquil spaces, and soporific shades where you need focused thought and action. |
